Judo WA acknowledges the contribution of Carlo Knoester, who is currently serving as an Referee Supervisor at the 2025 Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan.
The Deaflympics, held from 15–26 November 2025, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The event brings together over 2,300 athletes from 77 countries, competing across 18 sports.
Judo is being contested from 16–18 November at the historic Nippon Budokan, featuring 147 judoka from 36 nations. As an IJF Supervisor, Carlo is contributing to the delivery and oversight of judo at this significant international event.
Carlo brings extensive experience to this role, having officiated at several Olympic Games and served as an IJF Referee Supervisor across the IJF World Judo Tour. He is also the head coach at Kano Judo Schools and is a past President of Judo Western Australia.
